If you’re unhappy with Tik Tok or don’t want to use it now that they’ve merged with Musical.ly, you’ve come to the right place. Watch this video to learn how to delete your Tik Tok account quickly and easily.
First, open the Tik Tok app. If you aren’t already signed into the account you want to delete, log in with your username and password. Then tap the Profile icon in the bottom right corner. Tap the three dots in the top right to open a pop-up menu. Select Privacy and Settings. Then select Manage My Account. Tap “Thinking about removing your account” at the bottom. You’ll then need to verify that you want to delete your account with a code.
You can only receive this code through a text message to your phone number. If you have not yet added a phone number to your Tik Tok account, you can do so by going back to Manage Account and selecting Phone Number, then enter and verify your phone number.
Once you have a phone number on your account, tap Send Code on the delete account page. You will receive a text message from Tik Tok with a 4-digit code. The code expires after 60 seconds so be sure to enter it quickly. Type in the code, then tap Continue. You’ll then be presented with some information from Tik Tok about what happens when you delete your account, including the fact that when you go through this process, your account will be deactivated for 30 days, after which your account will be permanently deleted.
If you want to continue with deleting your Tik Tok account, tap Continue at the bottom. To confirm, tap Delete Account in the window that appears. That’s all it takes to delete your Tik Tok account. If you change your mind, you can reactivate your account by logging into Tik Tok with your same username and password within the 30 day deactivation period.
